How does it work?

Because we offer a unique position, we are very selective in our hiring process. We welcome everyone to apply and look to hire the most high-level, qualified talent.

We ask our team members to determine the number of hours they would like to commit to working. Typically, our CPAs are looking for part-time, flexible work, though we can also accommodate full-time hours. We look for a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week (averaged). With our focus on work-life balance, generally our new team members experience a training and on-boarding period in which we strive to reach desired hours within the first 3 – 6 months of joining our team. Workload is determined by availability of work and is assigned to those on the team with room in their schedule to take on new clients and those that have the skills for the work required.

In those first few months, we build up workload over time in order to ensure our team is not overwhelmed and can properly manage the work-life balance we strive to maintain among all members of our team. We also want to make sure we’re taking care of our client with superior service. This is a delicate balance and is the focus of our firm so we take a slow and steady approach to be sure all the pieces fit.

Experienced Part-Time Tax CPA

We are looking for professionals with the following qualifications to join our virtual team:

  • CPA applicants must have an active license 
  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week
  • Small firm/business experience + tax background required
  • Proactive communication
  • Financial Statement Analysis and Advisory preferred
  • QuickBooks/Online experience preferred
  • Our team must become QBO ProAdvisor certified before work will be assigned
  • Candidates will need all hardware to fulfill duties including a secure Windows-based computer with MS Office Suite, high speed internet (min. 15mbps download/5 mbps upload speeds recommended), telephone. You will also need Adobe DC or higher.  
  • Position requires (at minimum) a Bachelor’s degree.

Experienced Part-Time CPA

Marketing Assistant with Podcast Experience

PJS & Co. CPAs is looking for a professional marketing assistant who can help us with a variety of tasks focused on improving profit, growth and lifestyle for service-based business owners. Tasks will vary to support marketing efforts to increase visibility and communicate more effectively with our target audience. We also produce a weekly podcast, The Cultivating Business Growth Podcast, for which we need help writing show notes (averaging between 800 – 1200 words) and distributing that content.

We are a team of hardworking professionals who also balance life and kids at home. If you are someone who wants to continue a career while working from home, are great at time management, meeting deadlines, communicating effectively, and passionate about helping others, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily administrative tasks to ensure functionality and coordination of department’s activities
  • Compose and post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts in line with brand guidelines
  • Assist in preparing monthly email newsletters 
  • Assist in the organization of promotional events and traditional or digital campaigns and attend them to facilitate their success

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with the above responsibilities
  • Ability to research technical accounting topics and write about them in a way small to medium size business owners can understand
  • Excellent overall writing skills delivered in a professional yet friendly tone. Our goal is to keep a professional tone while remaining approachable and easy to understand for our target business owners.
  • Impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of our client base and what motivates them online
  • Great research, organizational, and learning skills
  • High comprehension of software like Google Docs, Infusionsoft, and WordPress
  • Familiarity with keyword placement and other SEO best practices
  • Exquisite communication and people skills
  • Experience with podcast production and distribution preferred
  • Familiarity with entrepreneurs/small business
